By using NotOnRecord ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you agree to these terms on behalf of that organization.
NotOnRecord is a pay-per-use anonymous message relay. You compose a message and choose how it is delivered — email, an AI-voiced phone call, an AI agent phone conversation, a text message, or a private web link. NotOnRecord delivers it on your behalf so the recipient does not learn who sent it. We also offer a Microsoft Teams app that gives meeting participants an anonymous voice in the meeting chat.
Individual channels may be temporarily unavailable (for example, while carrier registration is pending). Only channels shown as available at checkout can be purchased.
You must be 18 years of age or older to use the Service. By using NotOnRecord, you represent that you are at least 18.
You agree not to use the Service to:
Every message is screened by automated content moderation before delivery. Messages that violate these terms are refused and no charge is made. We may block a sender or a recipient path at any time.
Anyone who receives a message through NotOnRecord may permanently opt out at notonrecord.com/unsubscribe, or by replying STOP to a text. Once opted out, no one can send them anything through the Service again — the block is enforced before payment is taken. Abuse can be reported to [email protected].
Voice and AI agent calls are placed with an artificial voice and identify NotOnRecord as the origin. At the start of each call the recipient is told they are speaking with an automated assistant from NotOnRecord — an anonymous AI messaging service — so no one is misled about who or what is calling. Calls are subject to the maximum duration shown at checkout.
Every AI call is recorded, and every recipient is told so. The recipient receives an audible notice at the start of every call (the call is placed "on a recorded line"), as required in two-party-consent jurisdictions. Recording the call is not optional and does not depend on what you purchased; access to the audio is what you pay for. You may buy that access up front as an add-on, or afterwards from your call report once you have read the transcript. Audio that is never purchased is deleted within 24 hours of the call. You are responsible for ensuring your use of a recording complies with the laws applicable to you and the recipient. Purchased recordings and all transcripts are retained for a limited period (currently 7 days) and then deleted; unpurchased audio is deleted within 24 hours. You may not use AI calls to deceive a recipient about who or what they are speaking to.
You direct NotOnRecord to deliver your message; we act on your behalf. By placing a message or call, you represent that you have a good-faith, lawful basis to contact the recipient at the address or number you provide, that the contact is not for an unlawful, deceptive, or harassing purpose, and that your use complies with all laws that apply to you and the recipient — including anti-harassment laws and laws governing automated, artificial-voice, and recorded communications (such as the U.S. Telephone Consumer Protection Act and its state equivalents). You are solely responsible for your message and for the consequences of contacting the recipient. You agree to indemnify NotOnRecord and Engineered Everything LLC against claims arising from your misuse of the Service or breach of these representations.
While NotOnRecord is designed to protect submitter anonymity, we cannot guarantee complete anonymity in all circumstances. Factors outside our control — including but not limited to law enforcement subpoenas, network-level monitoring by your organization, or behavioral patterns that identify you — may reduce or eliminate anonymity protections. Use the Service accordingly.
Meeting organizers who add NotOnRecord to their meetings are responsible for:
NotOnRecord is pay-per-use. There is no account, no subscription, and no recurring or automatic charges. You pay for each message or call at the price shown before you confirm. Prepaid credit bundles, where offered, are charged once at purchase and expire as stated at the time of purchase.
Refunds: if we cannot deliver a message or connect a call after our retry attempts, your payment is refunded automatically — you do not need to request it. If you believe you were charged for something that was not delivered, contact [email protected] and we will investigate and refund where delivery did not occur. Because delivery is immediate and cannot be recalled, successfully delivered messages are not otherwise refundable.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details. We may change pricing at any time; the price shown at checkout is the price you pay.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violations of these terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that anonymity will be maintained in all circumstances.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NotOnRecord and its parent company Engineered Everything LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify active subscribers of material changes.
Program: NotOnRecord SMS — a two-way private messaging relay operated by Engineered Everything LLC from the number +1 (231) 729-2666. Senders opt in by texting the number or submitting the form at notonrecord.com/send. For text messages, recipients receive a one-time consent request and the content is delivered only after they reply OK. (Voice and email deliveries are made directly; every recipient can opt out permanently at any time — see §4a.)
Message frequency varies by interaction (typically 1–6 messages per session). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Support: [email protected].
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
