These terms govern your use of the NotOnRecord SMS messaging service. By texting our number or replying OK to a consent request, you agree to these terms.
NotOnRecord is a two-way interactive private messaging relay platform. The service enables users to compose and deliver private messages through their chosen channel (SMS, email, or voice call). NotOnRecord acts as the relay — all messages are sent from NotOnRecord, not from the original sender's number. This protects sender privacy while ensuring recipients always know who the message is from (NotOnRecord).
There are two distinct user roles:
Before any message is delivered to a recipient via SMS or voice, that recipient receives a consent request and must reply OK to receive the message.
As a sender: You opt in by texting our number at +1 (231) 729-2666. Your first inbound text constitutes express written consent to receive transactional session messages. You may also opt in via the web form at notonrecord.com/send.
As a recipient: You receive a single consent request — "Someone has sent you a private message. Reply OK to receive it, or STOP to decline." Replying OK constitutes your express consent to receive that message. Replying STOP opts you out immediately and permanently.
Messages you may receive include:
No marketing or promotional messages are sent. All messages are transactional and strictly user-initiated.
Senders: Typically 3–6 messages per session, based on your interaction with the service.
Recipients: You will receive one consent request per inbound message. If you reply OK, you receive one additional message (the content). That is the maximum — 2 messages per interaction, only after you have opted in.
Message and data rates may apply. NotOnRecord charges per-message fees for certain delivery channels (SMS, email, voice). Pricing is shown before you confirm any paid action. Payment is processed securely via Stripe.
Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe and stop receiving messages from this number. You will receive a one-time confirmation message, then no further messages will be sent.

NotOnRecord is available on all major US carriers. Carrier support is not guaranteed and may vary. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Your phone number is never stored in plain text and is never included in delivered messages. See our full Privacy Policy for details.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
